| MY GAME IDEA |
|
| Well here we go this is an idea for now and we will have to see what it turns into . |
|
|
| What I am trying to accomplish here is a game an online game the coolest most radical online game ever created .For those of us who like simulation style games it would be a dream come true . Think of it....... mech style games , tank , choppers aircraft, and even a foot soldier....... all combined into one realtime multi-player extravaganza. |
|
| I dont know about you but I get tired of being locked into one, mode of play , that sucks real bad , some times I want to play a mech style game other days I would like to play a first person shooter like Metal Gear Solid. And I think it would be real intense if you couldnt tell weather or not the plane, tank ,mech, soldier, had computer or human AI . The possibilities of game strategy are completely endless as well as the game would always be different every time you played. |
|
| This style of game wouldnt be hard to implement either, as most of the info is served off of an online server, the gaming server. Terrain and even vehicles / characters could be downloaded as well. For example areas that are taken as result of winning a battle and the terrain images that go along with it could be downloaded as necessary, thus also expanding your off-line experiences . |
|
| The game must have these requirements |
| (more on each role as time goes on ) |
|
| The ability to play under different roles. For example driving a tank, foot soldier, pilot. |
| I feel that this variety of game play will appeal to more people as well and as said b4 the intensity of the game-play would be remarkable if the software was well executed. |
|
| The ability of gamers to communicate in real time. |
| As in most online games the need to communicate is a must and wow just the of what you could do if you were able to have a 60 ton mech cover you on a mission or you as a foot soldier were able to plant charges and disable a mech. |
|
| For pilot type enthusiasts the ability to fight against each other in choppers and aircraft as well as take out targets that vary from mechs, to tanks, to foot soldiers, that as well would be a bonus for game-play. Myself I think it would be nice to call in an intelligent air-strike on a target instead of the lame AI pilots in some games. |
| |
| Realistic environment |
| The worlds or areas the missions are fought in should be as realistic as possible, obviously. Lol |
| It would also be nice to take out windows in a building and inflict damage to the build say when attacking a sniper or something |
| The buildings or areas that take damage should remain damaged in the online version. Simulating real situations. They may be able to be repaired but they would also be awesome places to dig in so to speak as well. |
| It may be necessary to make this out of say three or four 100% compatible games. This could let the gamer choose his style of play. And due to the actual games being in separate modules, so to speak the game play should be quicker, as the programs would be smaller. The software libraries would have to be shared thus enabling all maps etc. to be linked to the separate modules of the game |
| Damage taken in one players module is reflected in realtime in the another players module. This can also directly work to your disadvantage though, if fighting as a foot soldier you and |
| are in a building that gets hit and damage is taken there , |
| you too will take damage appropriate.. |
|
| The ability too take various weapons, but realistic weapons and thus |
| also be able |
| to pick up the enemies weapons or weapons that are found along the way |
|
| A realistic weight limit put on all weapons load ( how much you can carry) and if you have to reload you must find ammo or a weapon, what ever the case may be until such time as the mission is then over. |
| |
| Vehicles should take realistic damage as well and you should be able to interact fully in the environment .Possibly being able to say jump on a tank as a soldier etc. That might be askin a bit much |
| The object here is to create an all out war on a planetary level and be able to continue that too other planets etc. ( in the future ) |
| Also as the game progresses it could only get better you just have to look at some of the online games played now. |
| |
| Battles won and lost must be reflected in all aspects of the game and each of the individual modules. Thus affecting in realtime the placement of the battle lines |
| |
| Mode of play should be similar to popular games as Heavy Gear, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid and other various sim games. |
|
| The ultimate battle sim, but with a massive advantage over all other games. This one takes all forms of battle games and networks them together into one freakin huge battle simulation. |
|
| The different battle simulations vary according to mode of play |
|
| Foot soldier |
| Mech/Gear pilot |
| Air/Space pilot |
| Tank or other vehicle |
|
| This could be accomplished by sharing the battle maps as common amongst the games easily done. The beauty of this is that with the proper software player generated maps could be generated as well creating virtually endless playing environments |
|
| Each mode of play has its own program that you play through thus being limited to that mode until such time as the mission is over then a simple program change and you are in another mode of play |
|
| All modes linked together via online servers that continually update the maps in realtime as well for all of the game modules. |
|
| Dynamic sharing of targets , and environment. |
| Example |
| If I am driving a tank and take out a foot soldier , and that foot soldier is you then its mission over |
| At least till next time LOL |
| or |
| If I blow your plane out of the sky with a shoulder fired SAM game over as well. |
| And one more thing |
| I dont think as a foot soldier you would want to run into a pilot in an |
| A 64 Apache, whose AI was intelligent or a tank for that matter . |
| AHHHHHHHHHH LOL |
|
| I am looking at this approach in gamin for the main reason that it will get the most human interaction and realism due to the nature of the game . |
|
| The game should be able to be played |
| off line but with computer AI as well |
| possibly |
| Online support of comp generated AI player/players as well |
| It would be real cool if you could get a lot of players in there at once too, say up to 20 at a time. |
|
| Missions played offensive or defensive depending upon the out come of the previous battles. |
| Online updates of battle lines giving you the advantage of updating your game play offline |
| (this keeps your gaming constantly changing ) |
| Playing offline could be a good way to build rank ... hmmmmmm |
| Downloads of maps and worlds for you to play in |
| ( The availability of these maps will depend upon intelligence from your side) |
| Gaining of rank according to accomplishments in the field (win/loss, hit/miss, kill ratios ) |
|
| The ability to host a game as a commander from a command post. Here you only get too communicate by COMNET ( Internet paging system) providing that the selected person has a working communications device . |
| You are limited to a virtual battle map telling you what is going on and there by only have the ability to called strike and targets etc. This is done in full third person mode as in say |
| Command & Conquer |
| You as host can define some of the mission parameters |
| |
|
| Mission goals are defined by order of importance |
| example |
| Command |
| communications posts |
| vehicles |
| etc. |
| Each goal must be accomplished in order to continue. When the objectives are accomplished mission over. The advantage here is that if both sides have say a command post set up, a defensive mission could suddenly become an offensive mission. If the other side makes a mistake in their battle plans. |
|
| Objective information defined by sector of map and target data for the said area. |
| Multiple mission objectives a possibility if it doesnt affect the speed of play. |
|
| Day Night Weather effects etc. More realism :) |
|
| The ability to defect to another side...........But beware, you will also be wearing the insignia of your former unit affiliation, although half the size and of lower placement on the player it does let the enemy know that you are a defector from a different unit thus making you a more suceptable target. ( you may have information the other side doesnt want out.), and no one like a traitor any way. |
|
| If you do something stupid ( like shoot and kill a target from your own side) you will be penalized. according to the severity of the crime committed. |
| This should eliminate any genocidal behavior. Remember its a war not a killing spree. |
| Punishment could be a mission failure, loss of rank weapons, zone restriction etc. |
|
|
| What do you think ? More ideas would be good . And I will try to make a more organized |
| ideas page as things come in. |
| What I want to do is send this idea to all the gaming companies and see what kind of a response comes back. |
|
| It would have to be fully ported to Linux as well and if I had my way about it would also be served from a Linux run server. |
|
| I KNOW THAT |
| THERE ARE LOTS OF SIM STYLE GAME LOVERS |
| OUT THERE |
| LETS SEE WHAT IDEAS YOU HAVE |
| MELT |
| THEM ALL TOGETHER |
| AND CREATE THE WORLDS MOST |
| KICK ASS |
| ONLINE BATTLE SIMULATION |
